The helmet features an ultra-lightweight molded construction in a low profile design. Using Aerocore ™ zonal impact construction with Koroyd®, the unique deformation zone cylinders crush evenly upon impact to provide superior energy absorption, design flexibility and ventilation compared to materials traditionally used in helmet construction. With an optional Multidirectional Impact Protection System (MIPS®) liner that reduces the rotational forces the brain is exposed to during oblique impacts to the head, a leading cause of concussions.

The slim ventilation system with a low-profile shutter button allows you to easily adjust airflow even with a gloved hand. The helmet is fully integrated with Smith Masks.
By drawing warm, fog-causing air out of the goggles and exhausting it through the helmet's vents, Altus ensures optimal circulation and maximum airflow. Removable ear cushions with elevated design features provide additional warmth in both helmets and are compatible with Smith's new audio partner, the Aleck® 006 ™ audio systems (sold separately)
