Some tips for a successful purchase of snowboard helmets :

-The size of the helmet :

A snowboard helmet is chosen according to the size of your head (in cm). The helmet should not compress the face too much and, when you shake your head, it should remain well positioned. Some helmets are delivered with a kit of foams of various thicknesses.

Example: if your child has a head size of 54 cm, he/she needs a helmet size of 54 cm.

To find out your size, take a measuring tape and measure your head size just above the ears:

S - 52- 55,5 cm head size
M - 55,5- 59 cm head size
L - 59- 62,5 cm head size

Don't let your children ski without a helmet!

-Ventilation:

Look at the ventilation system of the snowboard helmet, it is important, because it is what will "air condition your head" in case of high heat!

-adjustable helmets:

On the market, you can find non-adjustable snowboard helmets and scalable helmets that are equipped with a knob at the nape of the neck allowing you to adjust the size of the helmet up to 8 cm to optimize safety and comfort

Non-adjustable helmets are more compact. Generally, they have a better finish on the neck. On the other hand, scalable helmets are more adaptable and grow with children and juniors for a few years.

-Weight:

The weight of the helmets varies between 400 and 700 grams. Everyone has to decide for themselves how much weight they can "carry".
The longer you ski, the heavier the helmet becomes. Lightweight snowboard helmets nowadays protect you just as well as more massive helmets, thanks to the high-tech materials used.

-Music:

Some helmets are sold with Bluetooth Audio ear pads. For other models, you can find optional audio ear pads, which allow you to connect any type of player to these ear pads, including your phone. With these ear pads you are not cut off from the world, which is not the case with headphones.
