The Stratos is a hybrid all-mountain board built with the body of a directional freeride board and the spirit of a freestyle board.
The Stratos has a playful board feel thanks to a narrow sidecut and user-friendly flex, but the 10 mm taper and 3D Contour 3.0 base give it the flotation and turning performance of a powder board.
- Traction Tech 3.0
Traction Tech 3.0 features three bumps per edge (front binding, center of board, rear binding). The center bump is slightly larger than the outside bumps for better grip.
- 2. progressive sidecut
At the ends of the sidecut, the radius increases progressively as the edge reaches the contact point. The progressive increase in radius of the sidecut towards the contact point enables smoother turn initiation and exit, while the edge enters and exits the snow with a less abrupt transition.
- Tapered shape, 10 mm
The tapered shape plunges the tail into the powder for better flotation and faster turns.
- Blunt nose
The way a board glides through powder, crust, corn or any snow deeper than an inch is dictated by its front contact point and just beyond. Next time you're in soft snow, observe how much snow reaches the corner of your nose near the contact point. Snow that bulges behind the tip means you're going through it, which obviously slows you down. By adding a blunt nose, you get the flotation benefits of a much longer nose without the rounded tip of the "snowplow" and its extra swing weight. - Jeremy Jones
- Directional flex pattern
Offset flex pattern from tip to tail designed for directional freeride boards. The nose, center of the board and heel have slightly different stiffnesses to help lift the nose, sink the heel and improve stability at speed.
- V-Core
Jones' exclusive wood core profiling for a stable, playful board feel. The wood core is softer between the feet for easier turn initiation and stiffer at the nose and tail for stable riding on rough terrain and landing airs.
