Snowboard K2 Freeloader Split Package Black Men
To design the K2 Freeloader splitboard, we spent countless hours climbing peaks with our skins, riding along ridges, and of course, making beautiful turns in the powder. The Freeloader was developed to climb faster, descend with more precision, and allow you to venture further than ever before with a splitboard in the backcountry.
It was developed from the same unisex shape as our Maurauder splitboard. With its slight pintail, the Freeloader's tail digs deep into the powder while the wider nose lifts well to stay above the pow and get through the spray with ease. We wanted to build a split that was as light as it was dynamic so we developed a new core for the Freeloader.
Our TourLite paulownia core is ultra-lightweight and sandwiched between two layers of triaxial fiberglass sublimated with our ICG™️ 20 technology. By integrating 20 strips of carbon into the fiberglass from nose to tail, we gain pop without adding weight, resulting in excellent edge hold, easier traverses on hard snow, and a boost in downhill responsiveness. Our top-of-the-line topsheet technology, called Snophobic™️ prevents snow from clumping on your board, so you can keep your weight down and ride faster.
And of course, with less weight, you'll be able to lengthen your rides or go for an extra climb. We've added Karakoram Ultra Clips to the nose and tail to ensure even more efficient tightening of both parts of your splitboard. They limit any unwanted movement of the two skis and give you the feeling of having a one-piece board under your feet on the way down.
Finally, the Freeloader is equipped with our carbon boosted Ptex 5500 sliced base: the strongest and most gliding base in our range. This material holds wax longer than standard sliced soles, and its black color over the entire contact area allows for "invisible" repairs.
