The A-Series chassis offers reactive flex and optimal power transfer thanks to the presence of aluminum under the foot. Designed to allow the aluminum to flex under the rider's weight, this chassis ensures a much more dynamic and precise ride.

The C-Series chassis, combines an extruded aluminum heel with a baseplate available in either fiberglass-reinforced nylon or polycarbonate. The heel provides exceptional response in forward/backward tilt, while the composite baseplate offers comfort and smooth gliding underfoot.

Snowboard bindings: choose well according to your riding style

Understanding the importance of snowboard bindings

Snowboard bindings play a crucial role in your board's behavior. They connect your boots to the snowboard, influencing responsiveness, comfort, and precision while riding. It is therefore essential to choose them based on your needs, level, and especially the riding styles you practice.

The different types of bindings

Strap-In bindings

These are the most common. They consist of a chassis, a highback, and two straps: an ankle strap to secure the instep and a toe strap or toe cap strap that wraps the front of the boot. You place the boot on the footbed then tighten the straps to ensure optimal hold. This system offers comfort, reliability, and great adjustability.

Rear entry / quick-entry bindings

Also called rear entry, these allow quick entry thanks to a flip-up highback. The foot slides in from the back without touching the straps. Some hybrid versions also allow classic front entry. This type of binding is appreciated for its time-saving and ease of use.

Step-In / Step-On bindings

Systems like Burton Step-On do away with straps. The boot clips directly into the binding via side latches and a rear anchor point. This innovative system simplifies entry while ensuring efficiency and support.

Choosing according to riding styles

The choice of flex and highback is closely linked to your riding style. Depending on the riding styles you practice, you will opt for a stiffer or softer model, more or less reactive or forgiving.

  • Freeride: stiff bindings are ideal for technical terrain and aggressive turns. They offer responsiveness and power, with a firm highback and stiff flex. Made from resistant and lightweight materials, they are designed for experienced riders seeking precision and performance.
  • All Mountain: with a medium flex, these versatile bindings suit all terrains. They balance comfort, responsiveness, and forgiveness, perfect for riders who like variety.
  • Freestyle / Park: soft bindings are ideal for jibbing, flatland, and jumps. The soft flex allows precise tweaks, favors presses, and offers more freedom of movement. They are more forgiving and comfortable, perfect for having fun and progressing in the park.

Flexibility and forgiveness: a matter of taste

Generally, softer bindings are more forgiving, comfortable, and easier to handle, especially for beginners or freestyle enthusiasts. Stiffer bindings offer better responsiveness and more precision but require better control and are often less comfortable for long sessions.

Binding sizes: choosing well according to your boots

Each brand offers its own sizing guides; refer to the product to consult each brand’s size chart, but here is a general guideline based on your boot size:

  • Size S: boot sizes 35 to 41
  • Size M: boot sizes 41 to 44
  • Size L/XL: boot sizes 43 and above

For optimal support, make sure the boot fits well in the chassis without overhanging. The right size choice affects comfort, safety, and pressure transmission to the board.

Customization options not to be overlooked

Some bindings allow adjusting the highback angle (canting or forward lean), strap length, or disk position to adapt the riding angle according to your preferences. These adjustments play an important role in the overall feel and should be considered when purchasing.
