The all-new K2 Aterblack has been designed for durability with an emphasis on flexibility and classic freestyle feel, with modern handling. We worked with Seattle-based artist Dane Nomellini on the graphics, drawing elements from deep in the night. Bold, clean graphics to make the logo stand out in videos and magazines.
We took a tried-and-tested construction and design philosophy and listened to the riders on our team to create the all-new K2 Afterblack twin tip snowboard. Riders Mark Wilson and Justin Phipps weighed in heavily on tip and tail shape, sidecut radius, blend zone and camber profile. After a series of tests on the slopes and in the streets, we signed the dotted line on the second incarnation of the K2 Afterblack.
Designed for intermediate to expert snowboarders, the Afterblack is a flexible true-twin with a Combination Camber profile (with camber between the bindings and rocker on the outside of the insiders) that gives it a playful feel while still being able to keep speed and head straight for the next element.
Its tri-blend BAP core blends bamboo, aspen and paulownia to offer good strength and rebound while dampening vibrations on the hardest landings. Wrapping the core, triaxially woven fiberglass from tip to tail and Carbon Darkweb™ give the Afterblack stability and edge control to take off from the lips and send big lateral shots
- BAP Core - Tri-species renewable wood core offers a solid, light and responsive ride.
- Carbon DarkWeb™ - Increases board response and stability and adds pop to the tip and tail.
- Sintered 4000 base - absorbs wax for optimal glide while remaining extremely durable.
